About Krissy Katsimbras

Krissy Katsimbras Welcome and thank you for visiting my portfolio.

I fell in love with photography many years ago and it has become my peace and tranquility. My art reflects my heart and soul.
I feel as though I'm in a different realm of the universe when I'm creating. I become so engaged in the moment, as if I'm in my own wonderful world full of endless possibilities. It may be as simple as a water drop on a peacock feather or a delicate flower, the feeling is surreal.

I have recently discovered the digital aspect of creating interesting and unique variations to certain photographs I've taken. I really enjoy applying these effects and producing one-of-a-kind pieces. What I love most is taking an ordinary object and making it extraordinary! Whatever my subject, I try to create an unusual way to see it through a new perspective. Everything has potential to become magical and intriguing, you just have to look for it.

Over the years, I have created my own technique on how I photograph and compose my work. I aspire to use my own gift of imagination rather than doing things 'by the book'. I want my work to be as authentic to myself as possible.

My work has been displayed and sold in several local libraries, restaurants and artist co-op galleries. I frequently participate in local art shows and other venues to sell my work. Dozens of my images have placed in the Top 3 in photography contests. Throughout the year, I donate pieces to local charities and organizations such as, the Veteran's Memorial, Special Olympics, the Nevada Youth Empowerment Project and B.A.C.A. (Biker's Against Child Abuse). In October 2016 and April 2017, selected pieces of my work were showcased in Paris, France on one of the world's largest video screens!

I hope my creations bring you a sense of wonder and evoke thoughts of endless curiosity. To me, that is what art is all about!
